![]() It’s a hard landscape to navigate so in terms of inspiration the people around me push me the most. ![]() There is a real sense of community and everybody pushes each other to do more. I also really appreciate everyone in the Irish scene who is doing their most and putting passion behind their own brands. This list goes on and there is plenty more but I'll stop there. Other brands that interest me are Dickie’s, Carhartt, Our Legacy, Universal Works, Patagonia, Albam, Folk, You Must Create, Bode, Engineered Garments, Noah. Keeping that in mind I've donated a lot of my clothes and prioritise investment pieces and vintage. I find myself with way too many clothes in my wardrobe and it’s hard to build an outfit when you can’t navigate the clutter. I’ve always had a huge interest in Levi’s, as I feel they are the standard bearer for vintage clothing, especially selvedge and japanese denim. At the moment I’m tending to lean more towards minimal and vintage clothing, straying away from big graphics and branding. What are some of your favourite brands/designers/creatives? Is there anyone you look to for inspiration? This also attracted me to the idea of producing my own clothes, which I thought would be a pretty cool idea at the time as brands such as myself were few and far between at the time.ĮM. This allowed me to buy a lot more clothes and really begin shaping my personal style. ![]() To this day it's still one of my favourite designs and was inspired by my time working at McDonalds (funnily enough).Īt that period of my life I was working full time and had access to an income I’ve never experienced before. The first drop came late December 2017, which was the Mustard & Ketchup tee. It was something I had a great interest in and the idea of bringing ideas to life excited me. I started working on the idea of Nostalgia way back in 2016. When did you start working on Nostalgia? What inspired you to start? We caught up with Reyce to talk about starting the brand, photography and where he looks for inspiration.ĮM. Initally focusing on simple graphic tees, Nostalgia’s most recent full collection was a cut and sew three piece completely produced in Ireland.Īn Emporium pop-up regular, and favorite, Nostalgia has become one of the best known brands in the Irish streetwear scene. With a passion for vintage clothing, quality contemporary brands and meaningful design, Reyce’s direction with Nostalgia has evolved with his taste. Nostalgia is an Irish streetwear brand produced by film photographer Reyce Healy.
